“James Gatz—that was really, or at least legally, his name. He had changed it at the age of seventeen and at the specific moment that witnessed the beginning of his career—when he saw Dan Cody’s yacht drop anchor over the most insidious flat on Lake Superior. It was James Gatz who had been loafing along the beach . . . but it was already Jay Gatsby who borrowed a rowboat . . . and informed Cody that a wind might catch him and break him up in half an hour.“ This is when Gatsby made it a goal of his to have money and live a luxurious lifestyle. My image shows how Tom was gaining suspicion of Daisy and Gatsby. He could sense their connection was deeper than they claimed. There’s a tension forming between Tom and Gatsby. He’s also growing very suspicious about who exactly he is and where all his money came from. I dislike the lack of communication between Nick and Gatsby after he reconnected him and Daisy. Tom is defiantly catching onto Daisy and Gatsby and is upset by it. Which is hypocritical and I don’t like that he’s acting that way towards her. Tom is a really bad person shown through his actions in the past chapters and only cares about himself. Gatsby thinks that since he has money now he can get Daisy but Nick doesn’t agree as much, the money Tom and Gatsby have are much different.
